Milestones

I'm finally getting around to updating you all on Ellie's 12 Month Milestones!

At Ellie's 12 month appointment she weighed 19.2 pounds (25%) and was 29 1/2 inches tall (75%). She really has been a healthy baby and has only had a couple bad sicknesses. She sure is growing and getting stronger! She can now climb up and down the stairs all by herself. She climbs on everything. She even climbed up on the stool in the bathroom the other night and stood up at the counter! She can climb down off of furniture, beds, etc. (Brian always just fell off, lol!). Ellie also likes to stand without holding on (5/18) and is very interested in walking but still wants to walk on her tippie toes. If she doesn't want to be held (which is most of the time) she will turn and squirm until you have to put her down.

Ellie likes to be on the go! She will crawl across grass, cement, dirt (I can't remember ever letting Brian do these things!) to get to where she wants to go. She loves to go in Brian's room when he's sleeping and wake him up! She is constantly chattering to herself, but sometimes it's all vowels; her lips barely move like she's a practicing ventriloquist (she kind of sounds like that sloth from Ice Age).

Ellie loves baths, playing with doors (not my favorite), going on the stairs, dogs and cats, pizza, crackers, noodles, and her morning yogurt. She also loves playing patty-cake and you can always distract any bad moods and fits by playing this game. For awhile everything Ellie held in her hand was a phone; toys, shoes (one in each hand), food, you name it. She especially loves playing with Brian in his room with his toys (they're so much better than her's, duh!).

Ellie can say/has said doggie, mama, and baby, and she can sign more, eat, milk, please, and bath. If you have anything she wants (especially if it's food) she will start clapping her hands like crazy (sign for more). She also is very good at waving hi and bye - picture how Miss America would wave, and you get the idea . . . :)

Brian recently had his own milestone . . .

Well, we’re still struggling with the pooping in the potty thing (big surprise) and recently made a pooping chart to see if it would motivate Brian more. It did, kind of. He has these really good streaks and then he’ll poop in pants three times in a row (two times yesterday, one time tonight). Well, what really pleased us the other night was Brian got out of bed and got on the potty to poop all by himself! Then he called down the stairs, “I pooped in the potty!” That boy deserved ice cream! Now if he would only keep it up and abandon this whole I can poop in my pants still mentality. Sigh.

Here are a few more cute pictures of Brian; there have been quite a few lately:

Dancing with Sariah to Sariah's Princess Movie (poor boy, we just keep telling him he's Prince Charming)

"Monkeying Around" in the Backyard

Great garage sale find - Spiderman, Spiderman . . .

The sun was coming in the window just right that he needed those shades!

Playing in our new pool; another garage sale find

I'm sure Troy can related to being the only boy in a sea of girls! At least you're trying to "man it up" for Brian! Ellie sure is cute!

That should say 'relate', not 'related'! I need to learn to proof-read before hitting 'publish!" Sheesh!
