Happy Pioneer Day!

To all you non-Utahn's, today we celebrate the pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley, July 24, 1847.

Yes, today is a holiday and we celebrated with some fun Pioneer Activities. This afternoon we made Pioneer Hard Tack, an old-fashioned flatbread that was popular with pioneers. It actually turned out pretty great and was very tasty!

Later we had a little Pioneer Treasure Hunt that taught the kids some fun facts about the pioneers. The treasure was the materials needed to make their own Edible Pioneer Wagons.

Didn't Brian do a great job?

HAPPY PIONEER DAY!
