You're almost there!

I can’t believe Ellie turned 11 months this week. She is almost a year but she’s still my baby Ellie. She is now crawling up a storm and loves pulling herself up on things, especially the bathtub when the water’s running. She loves baths! She also loves books and being read to.

Ellie has been struggling with teething! Last month she got her two bottom teeth with no problems (so much so I forgot they were even there and didn’t mention them in the blog, lol!). While we were in Utah her top teeth started coming in and it created big problems for her. It all started in the airport as were getting ready to board the plane. She had a terrible messy diaper and awful diaper rash (plus I didn’t bring the cream with me because I didn’t want to deal with taking it through security). So, flying to Utah with Ellie wasn’t very fun at all! Brian was so good, though, and I am so thankful for that. Around the second half of our trip Ellie got worse and started refusing to eat and drink. She never got fully dehydrated, thank goodness, and I was able to get her to take at least one bottle a day. On the day we were supposed to fly out I was really worried about Ellie she was very lethargic and sleepy and it reminded me of how she was when she had pneumonia back in December. So, 15 min before we were supposed to leave for the airport, a couple elders in my mom’s ward came and gave her a blessing. It was such a comfort and I knew we would make it back to Ohio okay. Ellie slept the whole way back. It really was a blessing in disguise. She really can be a handful and it was wonderful to just hold her and relax on the flights. We made it home and ended up taking her to the doctor a couple days later. Turns out in addition to having a really bad teething episode, she has an ear infection! Anyway, to make a long story short, she’s getting better, eating a little more and is almost back to her old self (I hope).

We love her and can’t believe how much she’s grown!
