Last Weekend

We had a fun weekend! We started it out with a trip to the Columbus Zoo. This is our first time taking pictures at the zoo. We went last year but I didn't have my camera (so you missed out on seeing me at the zoo 2 weeks before Ellie was born, lol). This trip I was able to use my new camera Troy got me for Mother's Day. Thanks Troy!

Although it was a little rainy, we bravely chose to go. My rationalization was if we lived in Portland a little rain wouldn't stop us from going, right?? We ended up getting lucky and the sun was shining by noon. Soon after we arrived we rode the train. The kids loved riding around seeing some animals from North America.

Probably the most fun we had was petting the goats. These were very tolerant animals! They also got to comb and groom the goats which Brian loved doing! He started combing one backwards, so I told him, "No, comb it towards the bottom." He then lifted the goat's tail and started combing his bottom!! We got a few laughs out of that. Ellie also loved the goats and got a kick out of touching and playing with them.

The Columbus Zoo is so huge that you can't see it all in one day. We stayed mostly on the right side looking at animals from North America and going on the "Asia Quest." Because it wasn't too hot the animals were very active, espically this lion!

Pacing back and forth - Brian ran along with him!

Pretty Flamingos

Alligators

Ellie went crazy when we saw the monkeys. This is just a little taste of her excitement at seeing them:

When we were ready to go home we decided to take a ride on the carosel. No, Ellie didn't ride the horse; we're just posing! We sat on a little bench. I had to hold Ellie so tight - she wanted to jump right off my lap while we were spinning around!

Later that day . . .

Brian and Troy went on Father's and Son's Friday night with Troy's dad, Brian, and Uncle Sean (Denae's husband). They had tons of fun, junk food, and a HUGE bonfire. I got to sleep in Saturday morning until 9 am!! A first in probably 2 years. Those boys should go camping more often!

Loving Camping

I'm working on a new look . . .

In case you haven't noticed, I keep changing how my blog looks! Since I can't find something I really love, I'm making it. Hopefully it won't take to long to unveil!
