Brian's birthday party that evening started off with something very exciting: Ellie's first "official" steps (who knows when her first ones really were; she's been taking two here and there for weeks. But to me, three or more count as official steps)!!

Now on to the party!

Brian had fun opening his presents. He had been telling me for days how he was going to rip the paper out of the bag and see what the surprise inside was. He had lots of presents, but here are my favorite and his favorite:

My favorite was a dress-up police uniform Brian received from Denae and Troy's parents. He's been having a lot of fun with dress up lately, but unfortunately it's been dressing up in all the princess dresses at Sariah's house! Hopefully, he'll start to get more into boy dress-up stuff. :)

Brian's favorite present was the only one wrapped in paper. I only put two pieces of tape on it, but he had such a hard time opening it you would have thought it was covered in duct tape! He had been asking for this for days: a red "baseball hitter."

He was so excited to get this!
We went right outside and started throwing the ball at him. I think he hit it on his first try!

We also got him a little T-ball set, but so far he's better at knocking it over than hitting the ball. Oh well, this thing can also throw the ball up into the air, so we might just be using that feature soon.
After playing outside, it was time for birthday cake. Yummy, yummy!

What a great birthday!
