Catch Up

Oh boy, do I need to catch up! I promised myself I wouldn't play the catch up game blogging, but we've been doing such fun things I have to share. I promise I'll try harder to stay current! ;)

A week or so ago (I won't say how long) we had a lovely walk to the duck pond where we had a picnic lunch and fed the ducks.

Brian threw half his lunch to the ducks. I kept him from throwing more with the warning that some things ducks might choke on, lol!

Ellie sat with me and ate her lunch like a good girl. :)

She loved throwing bread, although a lot of it either went in her mouth or didn't get thrown far enough!

We love our ducks and geese - it was a beautiful day

Returning home, Brian wanted to climb on the big rock, so of course Ellie did too. I wanted them both to pose, but I wasn't quick enough!

A weekend or so ago, we had a fun time at a safety fair at Home Depot. The kids got to see a helicopter take off, fire trucks (although Brian was too scared to get on one. . .), learn about fire safety, and get lots of fun treats and hand outs. They also got to make bird houses with Daddy's and Grandpa's help. It was so much fun!

Grandpa patiently helped Brian and made him hammer all the nails. Brian was so distracted! He'd be hammering away but looking at everything else! Ellie made hers with Daddy's help, but, alas, those pictures didn't get saved to the phone - oops!

Great group shot with their finished products.

For Family Home Evening we painted the bird houses. Ellie loved the freedom we gave her to paint her own!

Brian did a good job as well.

Daddy stepped in to help move things along (we like short and sweet FHE activities, lol!)

And mommy got to help too

Here is the finished product! Front. . .

. . . and back - just to show Ellie really did paint the whole thing! Now we're going to hang them in a tree somewhere and little birdies are going to live in them! (according to Brian. :))

And, last but not least, COSI!! Yes, we do like to go to COSI and it has been awhile! So, I decided I could post more pictures about this fun place.

They had a wonderful frog exhibit the kids loved. We looked in every aquarium and played Where's the Froggie? Sometimes they were pretty hard to find, but the kids found them all!

Ellie played the game as well - here she is pointing out this cute toad. I think he's looking at her!

I love this picture of Ellie - Troy thinks it's too dark, but I think my natural light photographer friend would have to disagree!

These were our favorite froggies - they came in all colors!

We went to the water exhibit and Brian discovered the water pipes for the first time. There's actually water running through them and he built a pipe from the wall to the sink in the middle. He's so smart!

Instead of pusing the shopping cart Ellie thought she'd take a ride - Mommy pushes her all the time, right?

Our favorite part - the water!! We save this for last so we can change into dry clothes when we're done, lol!

Brian was so much fun to watch - he's matured so much! Instead of splashing and making a mess, he created! Just look at how hard he's concentrating!

Another fun picture of Brian - he's so independent and I love him so much!

We're glad that we could go and can't wait to go again!

There you have it - my catch up is complete!

What a busy and fun family! You have some really cute pics on here. It's so great to see your kids grow up, even though you're so far away.

Jeff and I drove passed our old apartment in Orem recently. Brought back some memories.

What fun activities! I think I need to get more creative on things to do with Everson. He is a busy boy and would love to get out of the house more often.
